The Highland Meadow Story: How We Grow for You

Highland Meadow Nursery began in 1994 with a simple but bold idea: build a wholesale nursery strong enough to thrive through every market cycle – by doing things the right way.

Founded by Dan Staley after 25 years in the nursery industry, Highland Meadow was shaped by hard-earned experience across multiple companies. From day one, the focus was clear: disciplined production, uncompromising quality, and relationships built to last.

More than 30 years later, that vision has grown into a privately owned, 115-acre production nursery recognized for consistent quality, dependable service, and plants that perform in the field.

Located just 20 miles south of Portland, Oregon, we grow in the heart of the Willamette Valley – one of the most respected nursery climates in the world. This advantage, combined with continual evaluation of our growing practices, plant selection, and availability, allows us to deliver premium plants our customers can rely on year after year.

Dan Staley

Founder & Owner

Dan Staley founded Highland Meadow Nursery in 1994 with a vision of building a wholesale nursery known for quality, reliability, and lasting customer relationships. What began as a modest 40-acre operation has grown into a 115-acre nursery serving customers throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

With decades of experience in the nursery industry, Dan built Highland Meadow on the principles of hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way. His leadership continues to shape the company's culture, guiding a team dedicated to growing quality plants and delivering dependable results.

David Webber

GENERAL MANAGER

Raised on an Oregon farm, David brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in agriculture and business management. He holds an Executive MBA from Washington State University's Carson College of Business and serves on the Oregon Department of Agriculture Nursery Advisory Committee and the Oregon Invasive Species Council, helping support the long-term success of Oregon's nursery industry.

Julio Cesar Delgdo Mendoza

Sales & Marketing Manager

Julio has been part of Highland Meadow Nursery since 2004 and brings extensive experience in shipping, logistics, operations, sales, and customer service. His deep understanding of the nursery's products, processes, and customers helps ensure a high level of service and support. Julio is passionate about building strong relationships and helping customers find solutions that meet their needs.

Administration Manager

Elizabeth brings more than 18 years of experience in accounting, finance, and business administration. She holds a Master's degree in Accounting & Financial Management and is bilingual in English and Spanish, helping support Highland Meadow Nursery's financial strength and operational success.

Brian Peterson

Production Manager

Brian brings more than 25 years of horticultural experience to Highland Meadow Nursery. He oversees propagation, plant health, growing practices, and production operations, helping ensure the quality, consistency, and performance of the nursery's plant material. Brian holds a degree in Horticulture from the University of Minnesota Crookston and is committed to continuous improvement and developing the next generation of industry professionals.
